My Steampunk Class Doll, an online class with Elena Loukianova

I am so excited.  I see myself improving tremendously with every new doll I make.  How amazing is that.  I never followed anything all the way through and stayed with it long enough to see the results.  Just take a look at my last doll.....
I keep taking classes and of course, I learn so many new things but I know in my heart eventually I have to stop and just jump off the cliff.  My imagination is already starting to work on it's own.  I dream of dolls I want to make, my own dolls.  No longer copying someone else's work....how bad is that!
I painted with oils from the time I was twelve years old, researched and learned every technique.  I got so good I could copy just about anyone who ever painted, even the Masters.  I would have people just pick a picture from a magazine and was able to copy it exactly, colors, style, you name it but never had the courage to actually paint one of my own.  I promised myself with the dolls it would be different.  I have to know if I have real talent.  I need to venture on my own.  Of course I keep telling myself it's not time yet, there is a lot I need to learn but that is due to my insecurities.  I see people who can't do half of what I already do and they take off and make amazing dolls.  They even show up in doll magazines.....Soon, maybe real soon!
This is from a class I took on aforartistic.com, a class by Elena Loukianova, Odaca artist.

Last month was very exciting as I was able to attend the Quinlan Doll and Teddy Bear Show in Philadelphia together with the Professional Dol...
